Myrtle Beach Golf Director Biography
Hello,
My name is Philippe J. Bureau and I am the Class A Golf Professional at Coastal Tee Times. I have been in the Myrtle Beach area for 10 years and I simply love the golf courses in our area and I am eager to assist you on picking the right golf courses for your next golf outing that you book with us.
I was instructed to brag about myself a little for this interview and I hope you will not click off of my segment in boredom-that was a joke!
 I grew up in Washington D.C. and learned the game of golf playing at the Chevy Chase Club in Maryland. I was lucky to grow up in such a wonderful and competitive environment! After graduating from High School, I enrolled in Woffard College and played on their golf team. Those of you who know me, remember that I spent more time on the course and in fraternity houses than in class! I took a leave of absence at the end of my Junior year to play on the European Tour. What a wonderful experience that was! My home base was Paris France, where I mainly slept on my sister’s floor in her 1 bedroom apartment and I traveled around and played competitively. I was fortunate to play with the best! Greg Norman, Fred Couples. I didn’t mean to elude that I played in their foursome, because I didn’t. I did warm up at the range with them and like all of you, was awestruck by their talent!
I decided after a year to start perusing my career as Class A golf professional instead of playing professionally. I learned a lot of valuable lessons and I am glad I had the experiences that I did. I began my career as an assistant Professional at Indian Springs, in Silver Spring, Maryland. I loved the private environment of the club and learned the customer service sacraments that I live by today!
I have been the Director of Golf at several wonderful facilities in this area! River Landing in Wallace, North Carolina, Shore Golf Tour in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Sea Trail Golf Resort & Conference Center in Sunset Beach, North Carolina and finally, Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. I have overseen the opening of two golf courses during my career, River Landing, and the esteemed Leopard’s Chase. Leopard’s Chase was ranked in the Top 10 of New Golf Courses by GolfWeek Magazine.
I love playing golf and spend the majority of my time during weekday hours on the golf course. Thank God I work with my wonderful wife or I would be divorced! I would love to help you select your courses, talk golf or simply make your dinner reservations for your next golf outing. Oh… You have to book with Coastal Tee Times for me to call area restaurants(just in case past fraternity brothers are getting some ides)!
I am also an owner of Coastal Tee Times and entered into the package side of the golf industry because I thought the industry needed a customer service revamping! I have seen so much poor service in Myrtle Beach, that I thought I would try a customer service approach to booking golf packages.
